Watch: Sec. Aguirre, kinasuhan ng wiretapping si Sen. Hontiveros

Sinampahan ng 3 counts of violation of RA 4200 o Anti Wire-Tapping Law ni Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre si Sen. Risa Hontiveros sa Pasay city Prosecutors Office.

Sa kaniyang reklamo, nais ng kalihim na mapanagot sa paglabag sa Republic Act 4200 o Anti-Wiretapping Law si Hontiveros dahil sa pagsasapubliko ng larawan ng umano at text messages sa pagitan ni Aguirre at isang “Cong. Jing” na tinukoy ng senadora na si dating Negros Oriental Rep. Jacinto Paras.

Ayon kay Aguirre, sa piskalya niya inihain ang reklamo sa halip na sa Office of the Ombudsman dahil hindi gumaganap ng kaniyang tungkulin bilang senador si Hontivers nang gawin nito ang umano ay paglabag.

“After further study, I came to the conclusion that it is the civil courts and the National Prosecution Service that have jurisdiction over the cases because the offenses were committed when Sen. Risa was not in the performance of her official duties,” sabi ni Aguirre sa text.

Sinabi ng kalihim na maliban sa piskalya magsasampa rin sya ng kaparehong kaso sa Senate Ethics committee laban kay Hontiveros.

Tiniyak naman ni Aguirre na patas ang magiging pagtrato sa kaso kahit pa sakop niya bilang DOJ secretary ang piskalya kung saan niya inihain ang reklamo.

“What I could say is that the DOJ will treat these cases fairly and with justice, so Sen. Risa has nothing to fear,” ani ni Aguirre.

Nauna nang naghain ng parehong reklamo sa Ombudsman si Paras laban kay Hontiveros.
