President Rodrigo Duterte and President Putin’s conversation during their meeting in Moscow

RT TV network released the video of some of the conversation between President Rodrigo Duterte and Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Russia on Tuesday, May 23.

The video showed President Rodrigo Duterte informed President Vladimir Putin about the current situation of Marawi City.

He told Putin that ‘ISIS’ occupied Marawi City and there’s is still a fight going on between the government forces and terrorists.

Duterte explained that he must go home as soon as possible to handle the situation and do his task as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

“ISIS occupied a province in Mindanao and there is still fighting going on,” President Duterte told President Putin

“I have to go home because I should be there at this time,” he added.

President Rodrigo Duterte said the he wanted to seek friendship and develop trade with Russia.

He also apologized to Putin for cutting short his trip and he asked for a soft loan to buy arms in Russia after U.S cancelled the arms deal with the Philippines.

In response, President Putin expressed his condolences to President Duterte and to the people of Marawi City.

He also understand that President Rodrigo Duterte need to cut short his trip to Russia because of the terrorist attack happened in the Philippines.

“I would like to express my condolences to you in connection with the terrorist attack that killed people in your country,” President Putin told President Duterte.

“My colleagues and I fully understand that you are forced to return to your homeland,” he added.

Putin also expressed his ‘hope’ that the conflict in Mindanao will be resolved as quickly as possible with minimal losses.
